- Fashion Studio I: Directed Design
Innovation
From the creation of fashion illustrations and technical drawings to the application of finishing techniques,
students cultivate mastery of design ideation, visual communication and realization. Students use an industry
brief to research, design and produce an innovative collection for a specific customer profile. Prerequisite(s):
None.
Course Goals: The following course goals articulate the general objectives and purpose of this course:
1. Students will learn to conceptualize and present designs for a collection in the context of a specific
segment of the fashion industry and consumer profile.
2. Students will experiment with drafting, draping, sewing and finishing techniques with a variety of
industry-standard equipment.
3. Students will learn the process of producing a collection in muslin and final fabrics.
